Step 1: Determine the size of your water feature.
The volume of water should have been provided when you bought the water feature. If you don’t have this information, the vendor you purchased it from should be able to supply it to you. If you have a pond or other large water feature with standing water, you can calculate it using the calculator below.

Step 2: Dosage of Fountain Refresh
Use the following table to determine the recommended dosage. Apply once every 2 – 3 weeks.
Water Amount | Dosage |
---|---|
1 gallon | 5 drops |
10 gallons | 1/2 capful |
50 gallons | 2 capfuls |
300 gallons | 2 oz. |
1,200 gallons | 8 oz. |
Step 3: Adjustments
Under some circumstances you may want to adjust the dosage. However we recommend using the dosage in the above table if pets or wildlife drink from your water feature.
If your water feature is particularly dirty or overrun with algae, you may apply up to 5 times the recommend dosage. You should see results in just a few days. Once the water appears to be clear, we recommend cleaning your water feature and adding new water. Once the water is clear or new water is added. You should then return to the recommend dosage.
If you have been using Fountain Refresh for a week with little to no results, it could mean you have overly hard water. In that case you may double the dosage. If you still aren’t seeing desirable results, you may go up to 5 times the recommend dosage.
